The organic cotton top actually feels cool to the touch, which surprised me since I expected it to sleep warm like the polyester mats we've tried. It's thin enough to fold up and stash behind the couch but still cushions knees during tummy time.

My 8-month-old has been rolling all over this thing since it arrived and the organic cotton top feels genuinely soft against her cheeks when she face-plants. The natural latex core gives it just enough give that my knees don't ache after tummy time.

I was worried about that new-mat smell, but this one had none at all thanks to the natural latex instead of the usual foam. My daughter rolls around on it for an hour and the cushioning actually holds up. Worth every penny.
